The assessment is designed to assess the competence of a registered installer who undertakes, or wishes to undertake work on commercial mobile catering vehicles, whether it is installation, commissioning, servicing or repairing the relevant gas appliances.


The objective of the course is to ensure that the candidate holds the relevant knowledge and information required to successfully install, commission and service LPG mobile catering vehicle appliances.

The course is aimed at anyone who intends to work on mobile and/or public gas catering installations.

The Pre-requisite for these assessments - Any operatives undertaking these assessments must hold an appropriate core gas safety qualification or relevant changeover qualification, in addition to the appropriate commercial gas catering and LPG qualifications.

Course duration of one day should be sufficient to complete this assessment.  The subjects are wide ranging, so are mainly covered in the classroom. This is by lecturer input and written exercises. There are practical tasks also, in certain areas of work.  The ACS assessments vary with the subject, but all include multiple-choice theory paper/s and practical tasks.
